Today’s video will help you learn to cover up certain parts of a photo without cloning. This is not a replacement for cloning in Photoshop, but it can help you when you want to maintain your aspect ratio but have an area that you do not like. You will also learn how to add canvas and then stretch if you do need to increase the size of your photo.

Love this! I wish I would have known this last year when I did a gallery wrap of a dog that was a closeup. I had to clone all the leaves around him & it took forever … you need those extra inches for the wrap. Stretching would have been perfect!!! Thanks Jodi! Your site is so helpful to me!

You wouldn’t believe it, but not 5 minutes before I checked your blog I spent about 20 minutes ever so carefully cloning the edges of a senior picture to a new canvas so that I could have it printed for a client as a wallet size. I tried your method and it worked great, but oddly enough changed the color of the background. (Actually to a more pleasant color) Any idea why?
