Secrets of Success {a must watch video}

I came across this “share” a week ago on Becker’s [B] School Blog – and I had to spread the word. I LOVE everything about this short video clip and plan to watch it often as a motivator and reminder of what I need to do to grow and be successful.
I hope you enjoy – I would love to hear your comments and thoughts after you watch it. What do you think makes you successful? What can you do to be more successful? And how do you define success?

I love it!
My secret key to success has always been: Do what you love, what you are passionate about. Because if you are passionate about what you are doing, you will be successful at it.
And: If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life. This was true for me in my “first” career and it will be true for this next adventure as a photographer.
To be more successful I am going to keep trudging along. I am going to keep shooting lots of pictures and keep improving and learning with every shot.
Thanks Jodi! I agree with everything he said. The one thing I am struggling with right now is Focus. As a photographer, I want to be able to do it all – weddings, family portraits, seniors, babies, maternity, sports, pets, etc. The only problem is, if I spread myself so thin like that, I don’t get really good at any of them. I know which ones make me more money, but those aren’t the ones I am the most passionate about. How do I decide?
Wonderful Jodi, thank you! I always follow your blog, but this is a post I’m going to share with my two daughters too. And to Wendy M, I have found that the money really does come from doing the work I love the most, because then my heart is in it and I do my best work. The “ones that make more money” still only make money if the work is excellent, and it takes passion to achieve excellence!

Great video. I personally resonate with the “serve” and “passion” points right now. I really feel I have been blessed to be a blessing and I love to bring joy to others through the art of photography. In this down economy I am keeping my focus on being a blessing by serving others with my gift. I guess that’s what success means to me.

In my pursuit to be come a professional photog I have a mantra. If you do this you’ll never work another day of your life! In essence saying that doing what I love for a living will never be “work”.

worth listening too, tfs! believing in myself and really caring about my clients is a big part of success. i could push myself harder to take it to the next level. in the short time i have been an official business, my clients already coming back to book again is one of the best defining factors of success for me!
