Oh how I would love this lens! I have one lens at the moment (35mm L) and would love a zoom. Especially for working with kids. I have found that zoom lens work great with kids on the go. That and vacations. Especially Disney! I would love to have one good lens.

I would love to have this lens because I am constantly changing out from my wide angle kit lens to my zoom lens. Having this lens would allow me to keep from changing so much. I don’t own a vibration control lens either and that would be pretty cool to have in a lens. I currently own the 18-55 Kit lens, a 50mm prime lens and a Tamron 70-300 zoom..

A lens like the Tamron 18-270mm would make for a great everyday lens.

I really would love to win this contest. I have been “in business” for only two years now and it’s been good. Along with bein a photographer, I also work full time and have a soon to be 18 year old son that is very active in travel soccer (of course I manage that too).

I have 3 lenes already, but basically use my Tamron 28-75 and in February I had saved up enough money to buy the 70-200 Canon lens but for some reason, I just never did it.

Well lucky I didn’t. In March, my 42 year old husband suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and almost died. After an operation, 20 days in ICU and 3 months off to work, Terry is back to work. We are soo grateful. With that being said, lucky I didn’t buy that lens. Even though we have insurance the 20% co-pays have drained my account. I am so grateful that money was there.

There are soo many tragic stories out there and mine will surely pale in comparison. I am grateful that we came out victorious. Unfortunately others don’t have my happy ending.

I really need a lens like this! I have the subpar kit lens with my Canon Rebel and it has to be one of the worst lenses I’ve used. I had previously purchased a Sigma 18-200 and it was slightly better, but I really need a better lens for general photography. I have a couple prime lenses like the 50mm 1.8 and the 100mm f2, but for taking pictures of my 4 kids I really need something with the kind of range this Tamron will provide. Money is tight and winning one will probably be the only way I get one

I’ve heard great reviews about these 2 specific lenses, but 28-300mm should be my choice specially when shooting events, so I don’t have to be changing cameras/lenses.
I have Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8, Nikon 55-200mm f/4-5.6G, Nikon 50mm f/1.8D & Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G, yes! I’m a Nikon girl

This sounds like an all around, fabulous lens w/ a lot of range options.. For those of us who do not own twin SLR bodies, it would be wonderful to shoot continuously (especially weddings) w/out having to constantly switch lenses on the the body, and risk missing shots. I would LOVE the chance to use this lens, and hopefully get even MORE great shots w/ the flexibility it would allow =)

The 28-300 would be best for my D700 for all day shooting without having to carry along all the other lenses and/or not having the time to change lenses. Good for events, weddings, and shooting my five fast moving young children. And the macro would be the added bonus There are not as many lenses available for full frame Nikon. Currently I have the Tamron 28-75, Nikkor 50 1.8, Nikkor 50 1.4, Nikkor 80-200VR, Nikkor 80-200, Nikkor 18-70.

I would love to win one of these lenses. I am new to the world of DSLR, having just graduated from my point and shoot. I was warned that it would be addicting, and it so is!!! I have a Canon Digital Rebel XSi. I have the kit lens and have just purchased a 50mm 1.8 lens. That’s all I’ve got so far in my arsenal.

I’ve got a Nikon D50 that goes back and forth with me to England (my boyfriend lives there), but only 2 lenses right now–a 50mm and a 28mm. The thought of the things I could do with a zoom lens makes me all shivery.

So why do I want to win lens the question should be why not and if someone answers they don’t win LOL no I really need a good lens i have a 24-70 but that doesn’t do much. I have several primes: 50mm, 85mm, 100mm, but do not have a good all-in-one lens. This is something I could envision using everywhere! We just went to NYC and it would have been awesome to have there. We’re going to Disney in Sept and I’d love to be able to use this and pack a whole lot less!!! I currently only have the kit lens (18-55mm zoom lens) and had planned to buy another one since my new husband and I love to travel. However, since he is my NEW husband (of just one month), I have a wedding to pay off. Also, I’m a hobbyist not a professional, so new lenses are on the backburner for now. I want to win this lens because I have been dying to add a nice zoom lens to my camera bag for forever, but just haven’t been able to convince my husband to spend the money!

I would most use this lens to photograph my family. This would have been so great to have earlier this year when I was in Europe visiting my sister or when we recently took a trip to Sea World San Antonio, and I can’t even tell you how many times I have cursed not having a nice zoom every single time we go to the zoo! My daughter is young now, but it won’t be long before she’s in sports as well, and I know I’ll really be needing that zoom then!

Currently the only lenses I own are the kit lens that came with my Canon Digital Rebel XT (18-55mm) and my 50mm f/1.8. So see? I NEED this zoom!

I would love this lens because I don’t have a decent lens past 75 mm. I currently have a bunch of primes: 50 1.8, 85 1.8, 100 2.8 macro, a tammy zoom: 28-75 2.8 and an old 80-200 canon that is SLOW.

I’d love to have a good all around lens for situations when I don’t want to haul a ton of gear (like the fireworks) or just playing outside with the kiddos.

I have 2 lenses that I use most. The primes are my favorite, but I need a zoom. I have the 50mm 1.8 that I use the most currently.

I own three lens but would love the versatility of this lens. We are headed home to visit family and I would love to capture the play between my daughters and their cousins! Also we have been visiting quite a few children’s museums this summer with my kids…and the 50mm 1.8 captures my children beautifully but does not capture the fun surroundings in small spaces.

Currently, I have a 50mm 1.4 and a 135 mm 2.0L. Both are great for portraits, but are both prime lenses. All of our children are involved in sports and I would love to be able to zoom in on them while they are engaged in their sports. Have the capability of such wide range would be so great to have on one lens. Ball field can be pretty dusty, not a good place to be changing out lenses.

The Tamron 18-270 is high on my wish list right now. I need a good walkaround lens for an upcoming trip to Puerto Rico. I currently own 8 lenses, but none of them cover the wide range that this lens does. I would love to be able to throw this lens on the camera for a hike and leave all my other gear behind. I own a couple kit lenses 18-55mm and 55-250 and it would be nice to have a lens that I don’t have to keep switching to get the full range! I’ve been looking to get a better lens and I know this would work great! I love sports photography and this would help to get nice and close!

Oh I want that 18-270mm! I attended a Tamron workshop when the first VC first came out and saw images taken with it and was amazed! As a photographer trying to grow my portrait business, not much has yet gone to expanding my gear stash. I rely very heavily on my Tamron 28-75mm which as gotten so much use and comes with high recommendations from me. I LOVE that lens! But it falls short in length when photographing my own kids from the soccer field side lines and the swimming pool bleachers – 2 places I cherish as my children grow and compete. I accidentally dropped my old Tamron 70-300mm and it broke. I’ve not yet been able to replace it. While my business is very important to me, my children are even more. I’m one proud mama!

My only other lens is a Canon 100mm macro – I love it but it’s limiting. I’m definitely a zoom girl!

I’m just getting into photography (with out using the auto setting) since I took a workshop a few months back, so I would love this lens. It looks really versatile, and since I am always trying to go without flash, I love that you can shoot with low shutter speeds.

I currently have the kit lens that came with my Rebel, a zoom lens (75-300mm) that was on a killer deal at Walmart (but can’t do anything close), and a prime 50mm, I just got for Mother’s Day. This might fill in the gaps that the other lenses don’t cover for me.

I’d love to own this lens, because the only zoom I have is a 17-55 and I would LOVE one in this range. My kids will be starting sports this fall and this would be a fabulous lens to use to capture the games and practices. It would also be great from the military events I am shooting for my husband, like USMC boot camp competitions & boot camp graduation and the crucible (google it!) Of course, I’d use it for business too.

I currently only own a 17-50 and a older very slow Canon zoom. I would love a more versatile lens to bring when I am taking pictures of the kids and dont want to switch the lens out. Also when I am in studio and dont need a small ap like on the 17-50.

As for why I would love this lens, I have really wanted an all in one lense that would help me in my new love for photography. I have been looking into adding a zoom lens to my prime collection. I need something to capture the kiddos on the beach. This would be fantastic! I currently have an 85mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.4 for my D700.

Wow – this lens looks great!!! This lens would be my new go to lens – all the time! I travel a lot with my job and can only fit one lens in my bag – and this would be the perfect one! My kids are active in sports and other community groups – I could use this lens ALL the TIME! I’m excited just to think about it! lol I have 3 lenses right now – and I think this would be my new favorite. Thanks so much for the contest!!

I want this lens, because it’s better than my current lenses, and it would be great to have one you can hurriedly use in any situation.
I currently own 4 lenses.
I would use the lens everywhere! Weddings would be great, for the reception when I us a more photojournalistic style. On vacations would be perfect for this lens as well!

I would LOVE to win this. I have largely been shooting portraits, but I’m starting to get more into events. My current lenses only have a range of 50-135mm, so I would benefit HUGELY from having this greater zoom range from a single lens. I’ve been wanting something like this, but it just isn’t in the budget at the moment.

I would love the 28-300mm lens. That would be a perfect all purpose lens. Especially when I’m out and about with my 4 girls. At the lake, park or where ever. It would be so nice to just have this lens on the camera and lighten my load in my camera bag. This lens would be so nice because I wouldn’t have to stop what I was doing and change lenses. I have two kids, a 2 year old, and a 12 year old, dad is deploying in a little over 60 days for a year to parts unknown. So, to keep him ‘part of the family’ while he’s gone – we are going to do the ‘photo a day’ of both the girls for dad to see constant photos of the two girls. Winning this would keep me from having to change lenses frequently – and keep me more likely to pick up the camera and snap a shot without having to get my bag, change lenses, etc.

I currently have 6 lenses (Sigma 30/1.4, Nikon 50/1.8, Sigma 105/2.8, Sigma 28-70, Nikon 28-80, and Tamron 55-200.

I would love this new lens because I am just starting out and I only have a kit lens and one other small prime lens. I would love to have a more professional lens in order to take better pictures. I would love to just go and buy it, but as a teacher, this is one thing that I just can’t afford to buy right now on my salary.

This is such an amazing contest. I would love to win this lens. I currently have 4 lenses and this lens would make a great addition to my set. I would probably most use this lens as my everyday stay on camera lens as it has such a versatile zoom to it.

I could use it on my DRebel, but I wonder what the comparable lens is that I could use on my Pentax *istD, which right now I only have a 28-200 zoom for. (At least that lens IS a Tamron!) I have a 28-300 for the Canon that I have got some GREAT motor racing shots with… but I prefer the Pentax for daytime stuff, and mostly use the Canons for Astrophotography.

I would so love to win one of these lenses! If I won, I would choose the 18-270mm lens for its versatility! I would use this lens for my new wedding photography business that I am currently trying to launch. It would be the perfect lens for wedding photography because of its range and versatility. Currently I own a Sigma 24-70mm lens. I bought it second hand and it’s been a good lens. It’s a bit heavy for my little hands though! I also have a Tamron 70-300mm macro lens and my new Canon 50mm 1.4 lens that I just bought which is still in the box.

I would LOVE to have the 18-270mm because I don’t have anything like that — certainly not anything past 200mm. I love to photograph children and this sounds like the perfect, walkabout range lens for that since they are always on the move! I currently have 5 lenses.

Oooh my gosh! Here’s the deal…. I have been trying to save my pennies (quite literally) for new “glass”. It’s been very hard to save for my lenses with being a stay at home mom (who is also trying to build up her photog biz)and not to mention, saving up for our ANNUAL trip to Disneyland with the kiddos AND a trip to the beach this summer. O M G! My head is spinning trying to figure out how to save my photography income for a new lens and our promised trips for the kids! How much would I love this lens? Really feel the need for a superzoom to learn composition at different focal lengths, but cannot afford one right now. I could really use a lens to take with me to my kiddos sports games, It can be a bit of a pain to switch between my zoom lens and 50mm lens while photographing baseball or soccer. I currently own three Canon lenses. The 18-55mm kit lens, a 75-300mm zoom lens and a 50mm lens.

My twin sis and I have just started a side photography business…one in which we dream of doing full time! I would love to win the 18-270 to use on my Canon 40D. It’s hard keeping up with kids as they run from here to there, as well as shooting wildflowers to waterfalls so I would LOOOOOVE this lens. I need a new lens so badly! I used to live in a northern michigan “resort town” that is absolutely gorgeous. When I lived there, I could not afford the camera I have now….and now that I can go back to visit, I am dying to capture the beauty of my hometown, and my pride in watching my kids enjoy its many charms! To be able to see the image in front of me, all the places I hold dear in their true color and state, when I am at home in Detroit feeling homesick, is priceless. I also know that along with good glass, goes good images….so please let me win!!!

Since falling in love with my 50mm 1.4, I’ve also found that a great lens with lots of range and zoom capabilities would be awesome when I’m taking photos of my children, and photos of the places we visit. I always want to take great tree shots, but the 50, and even my 18-55mm, just don’t cut it! I could use the extra focal lengths for shots my feet can’t get me to, and shots I can’t back far enough away from with my 50mm!

Right now I have only the kit lens for my Canon and the 50mm 1.4.

I would love this fantastic lens…the 18-270mm that is! It would allow me to get different angles and crops of those super fast 2 year olds that I often photograph. I would LOVE to win this lens. I’d love to have a better lens to use everyday and everywhere than my kit lens, and would especially love to try a Tamron lens!! The zoom would be great at the zoo, taking pics of my 2-year-old daughter, and I would LOVE to take this lens when I go lighthousing too!

Ok- how much do I want this lense???? SOOOOOOOOO much! My husband and I are both school teachers with more student loans that I would like to admit. We practically went in bankrupt one month after paying for an AMAZING photographer to take pictures of my son when he turned one.

We saved our money and for Christmas the next year we gave each other a Nikon d40 and started to shoot our own amazing photos. I just have the basic lens (18-55) and a 55-200.

Wow, what a great contest. I am not lucky with contests, but what the heck, I am entering. I have been eyeballing the 18-270mm lens since I first saw it advertised as it would be great for traveling. I have two little kids that I am constantly taking pictures with and I’ve been wanting a lens like this. Right now I have 2 lenses. I’m definitely an amateur and trying to learn more by chasing my kids around with my camera at any picture worthy moment.

I want to win a lens because I could use a better zoom lens. Right now all I have is my kit lens (for zoom) and I don’t like the DOF on it. I would use it at photo shoots especially for families. I really would like to win this lens because I’m currently saving for an 18-250 lens. When I bought my first SLR Nikon camera, it came with the 18-55 and 55-200 lens. I would love to have this lens because it’s all I would need! It’s like getting a multicolored crayon, marker, colored pencil, sharpie and sidewalk chalk all in one! I would use it for anything on the beach with kids. I could use it for the giant panoramic view to get the ocean and sunsets and family shots, as well as zooming in on the kids to see the sand running through their little fingers. I currently own 3 lenses that I use… 50mm f/1.4, 24-105mm f/4 & 135mm f/2. I need more zoom capability and an all in one would be wonderful!

Thanks so much this was a great idea! Man I really would love to add this lense to my collection!! I love more than anything to get those get shots at the beach, there is nothing more relaxing or rewarding than to be able to sit on shore and grab those great shots of the kids and their dad enjoying each wave that pushes them closer to shore. I absolutely love the determination and expression on thier little faces as they try to jump and surf the waves. My kids are starting to venture into sports so this would be idea! I have a cheap zoom lense I use that I bought a few years ago but oh how I would love to have good lense!! I have two primes so this could really come in handy! I recently made the switch from Canon to Nikon and in the process sold 3 lenses to finance a full-frame body and one lens (the 50 1.4 of course!). Adding a zoom to my bag would have me set for a while (and keep me off Amazon and B&H websites)! In the next several years, my husband’s job will take our family overseas and I want to be able to capture the faces and places we see and experience. In the immediate future, I think this would an awesome lens for some street photography in Waikiki as well as shooting landscapes here in Hawaii.

I would love to win this lens because it’s an awesome lens, that would make taking pictures sooo much easier for me. My 5 year old is always on the go, and carrying around two lenses is too bulky. Then you have the time it takes to change the lenses, I always feel like I am missing out on “the” shot! My family went to Disney World in April and I found that there are enough things you want to take to the parks with you, without having to bring a overly bulky camera bag with lenses as well.

I would love to use this lens around my home, as I live on an island, I love taking pictures of the life around here, fishing boats, lighthouses, and plenty of whales and birds!! I also love following my son around, I scrapbook and documenting his life is a passion of mine, so the vibration sensor would certainly be a wonderful asset!!

I currently have two lenses for my camera, a 28-200 and a 210-300, and I am all the time having to change out as I take pictures from real life, and never know when things are moving LOL

Jodi, I just love your blog. Contests or not, I enjoy every post! Looks like a lot of people are going to be doing the Disney thing this year! Well, it’s quite a miracle, but I too have managed to secure some vacation time for my family and myself and we are going to be visiting the beautiful beaches of South Walton, FL where I could really use this lens! I have 3 lenses to my name. I use two zooms and one 85mm 1.8 prime. My combined zoom lenses still don’t cover this range! Right now I use the 18-70 (without VR) and the 70-200 (with VR), Nikon lenses. I am constantly having to switch out when going from wide to telephoto. Having VR at every focal length would be a big plus too. An all purpose lens would really help lighten my load and keep debris out of my camera body while I’m chasing after my three kids on the beach, but Good Luck to everyone!!!

Searching through my Google Reader this morning, I came across this contest at MCP Actions for a fantastic lens.
At first I was bummed as it was for Nikon and Canon, neither camera do I have. I kept reading though….and was pleasantly surprised see they will substitute with a Pentax *yes* if I didn’t have either of the previous 2 mentioned. I was pretty happy about that. I have a 70-300mm Tamron lens which i love. I would love one where I didn’t have to keep switching. I have had to have my sensor cleaned on my camera a couple of times and I am convinced it is because I am changing my lens all the time. I also love to use my newest lens a 50mm 1.4 which takes very nice portraits. I know I would take it everywhere with me and use it in all kinds of photo ops!

What an awesome lens, this would be the best of both worlds and them some I think! I have the kit lens(3.5-5.6/18-55mm) and the 4-5.6/50-200mm zoom, those the the only lenses I have. Wide zoom– I love wide angles– they are terrific for shooting so many different things. I would love to have this lens for an everday/everything lens! I already have two Tamrons (17-50 and 28-75) and LOVE them! We are planning a trip to Disney World next year so this would really be awesome!! Fingers crossed!!

I would love to win this! I just got my first Digital SLR & have two lenses (I got it as a package). I absolutely love photography & although I’m still learning about my new camera, I feel like having fabulous lenses is the biggest plus! I would love to use the lens to mainly take photographs of my family… my 22-month old daughter & fun-loving puppy make excellent subjects to photograph! In addition, I love taking photos of nature!

OK I follow a blog of a great girl here in Michigan. Jodi from MCP Actions Blog is GREAT. Her actions for photoshop are OUT of this world. OK back to why Im posting this. Jodi is having a great lens give away on her blog right now. I would so LOVE to win a new lens for taking all my action shots. Yes I already have the Tamron AF 28-80 3.5-5.6, Tamron AF 75-300 4-5.6LD but its always nice to have another one. I was going to say If you have time to go to Jodi’s site go…but its not an “IF” you have to check out Jodi’s site.

Thanks for this opportunity! I have just purchased a 50mm f1.4 lens and can’t wait for it to arrive…. I would love to use one of these great lens to capture my 4 little beans on their everyday adventures…. as well as the large families I have the opportunity to photograph!

When the fall comes around I’ll be using it to take photos of the beautiful fall colors. Oh, I also have 6 children….love love love to photograph them, as well. *smile* I just received a Nikon D90 on Monday as a gift from my wonderful husband and children and I have only 1 lens (50mm). I would love, Love, LOVE to get this lens! I love taking awesome pictures of children and pets and want to keep getting better and better at it. I currently have a prime lens (50mm 1.8) and have been saving my pennies for a general all purpose lens. (my pennies keep getting raided for things like, oh, car repairs-no fun in that!)

I would ADORE the 18-270. I current leave my Tamron 28-75 on my 40D most of the time but I also have a 50 1.4. I shoot a lot of events for my church and I really think the 18-270 would be AWESOME for it! I think it would be a fabulous all around lens for not only the work I do at church but in my professional life too!

I would love to win this lens as juggling my 50mm prime to my 300mm zoom is somewhat obnoxious on the go! I would love to win a lens such as this so I could actually have a wide-enough angle to take pictures of common things instead of backing up into people and tripping on things with the 50mm

Currently I own two lenses and am hoping to increase that number with a few more prime lenses very soon! I’d love to win this lens to use it for exactly the situation you were talking about. We travel all the time with twins so have little ‘extra’ room for lots of camera equipment.

I CANNOT believe I just found this website! I just bought a new camera LAST NIGHT! For years I have used various Canon cameras and gotten really good results. I finally decided to buy a “big girl” camera and invested in the Canon EOS Rebel XSi. I have 3 children and attend LOTS of activities that I am the appointed photographer (weddings and family portraits included). I have never won anything in my life, and I have no other lenses…so this would be a first for me ALL THE WAY AROUND!
