WIN AN SLR LENS: Brand New Tamron Lens – 18-270mm or 28-300mm
I am very excited to have my 1st BIG lens give away on the blog. Tamron USA, Inc. is sponsoring the MCP contest for a brand new lens. The WINNER chooses from the 18-270mm (for a crop sensor Nikon or Canon) or the 28-300mm (for a full frame Nikon or Canon).
This would be an amazing lens to have for travel when changing prime lenses is inconvenient. I can just picture this lens on a trip to Disney World.
To enter, you will need to do the following:
- Post to your blog, twitter and/or facebook about this contest (let people know how to enter and provide a link)
- Come back here and leave a comment writing where you posted (with link so that it can be verified if your post is picked from the random drawing)
- In your comment, please write why you want to win this lens, where you would want to most the lens, and for fun tell us how many lenses you currently own.
To qualify, you must:
- Have a US mailing address that the lens can ship to – this can be yours or a friend or relative but make sure you have one prior to entering (Tamron USA is only authorized to sell and distribute in the US)
- Have a Camera that works with Tamron Lenses. If you do not have a Nikon or Canon SLR, a similar range lens for Pentax or Sony will be substituted.
- Do all the above items explained in the “enter section.”

I would use this lens on my Canon Rebel XT, Canon 20D or Canon 40D when I took my three children to the local coop farm where we go to play several times a week, on my family vacation to Disney World in March of this coming year and for general family pictures around the neighborhood. I would *totally* love to have it.
For fun, I own a Sigma 30mm 1.4, a Canon 50 mm 1.4, a Canon 100mm 2.8 and a Canon 24 – 70. As you can see, I need something that can give me a little more zoom! LOL. Thanks for the chance to enter this fun contest!

I would love to have the 28-300m lens … I don’t have a macro zoom lens, and would love to have one. I’ve been jealous of friends taking awesome shots of the moon, of flowers, and of children far away. I mainly photograph children, and it just would be so great to use this lens with them as they play.

I own a Canon 40d with the kit 28-135 lens, as well as a 50mm 1.8. I borrow a zoom lenses from friend, (whom I’m VERY grateful for!), but would love to own one for myself so he can have his back!
This lens would go with me on every trip, whether hiking, camping, or travelling (going to France next summer).

As for what I would do with this lens. Myu husband is paralyzed — and an artist. We have created a nifty artistic relationship, the two of us, in which I act as his hands in the creation of his artistic vision. It was while he was taking a photography class in college when he discovered that as an artistic medium he preferred to stare at photography. I on the other hand discovered that I LOVE photography. Its an artistic medium that in our relationship is all mine. Selfish, I know, but when you share so much creative vision, its nice to have a vision that can be explored in your little world all your own. Shortly after that class I scrimped and saved to buy my Nikon D40x, and though I have only the lens that is on the camera, I have explored every venue and creative manipulation I can possibly think of with this lens. My fingers itch at the idea of possibly having a new lens to play with. Photoshop is great, but there’s nothing like the exhilleration you feel when you look at a photograph that you have taken and know that its perfection is all in the technique and control and manipulation of the lens with which you took that picture to create it.
As for what lenses I currently own. Just the lens that came on my Nikon D40x — an awesome camera, by the way.

I would LOVE to have a zoom with more range. Currently I have two primes: 50mm 1.8 and 30mm 1.4 as well as the 28-105 (which I really don’t like) and the 24-70L. I love my 24-70 but its SO huge and SO heavy! I would love to be able to zoom in on my two little guys as they play and be a little more unobtrusive when shooting them.
I owuld love to win one of these lenses! I am new to photgraphy and have a Canon 40D and the kit lens as well as a Canon 50mm 1.8 so I would love a zoom lens!

I don’t have a good walk around lens and just love the compact design as well as the expanded range of this lens.
I do lots of sport photography and primarily use a Canon EF 70-200MM F /2.8L and a Tokina AF 16-50mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX.
I would love this lens for shooting weddings!! It would be so nice to keep one lense on the camera!! It would also come in handy for shooting my daughters softball games!!
I love shooting with my 50mm!!

1. This is like THE perfect lens!!! It would be my all around GO-TO LENS for work or out of town travel <3 I would love to have the versatility and flexibility this lens would perform.

Let me just start off by saying, I DISPARATELY NEED THIS LENS! It’s not a “want” it’s a “need”!! I am a single mom of two girls, and am trying to build my business the best way I can by what means I have! I do have two lenses, but neither of them are anywhere as nice as this one is!

Thanks for your blog post. What I would like to bring up is that computer memory has to be purchased when your computer still can’t cope with everything you do by using it. One can put in two good old ram boards of 1GB each, as an illustration, but not certainly one of 1GB and one having 2GB. One should look for the car maker’s documentation for own PC to be sure what type of storage is needed.

i have one 50mm thats it lol , im new to this art form ide really enjoy this new tamron .
I own a small franchise map and am always taking photos for the map and for my advertisers. I am also the mom of two small children and am CONSTANTLY taking photos of them and my friends children. I decided that I LOVE photography and bought a few actions a few months ago to help me with the post processing. I also took a course on line to learn more about how to use my camera and the fstops and lighting situations to be a better photographer. I am beginning to learn how expensive this LOVE of photography is. I do currently own two lenses and have a Cannon camera that I just bought and ma paying off LOL… My current lens which came with my older camera is kinda falling apart -so this would be a wonderful addition, multi purpose lens!!! I am also volunteering at the new Childrens museum here in town so you can see I am working hard to get out there and build a portfolio. I mostly think I want to work on Contemporary childrens photography!

I would like to win this lens because I have the wonderful opportunity to go on a school trip to Germany. I’d love to be able to use this lens on my upcoming adventure. I know that I want a new lens for this trip, but the trip is quite expensive and I’m not sure I’ll be able to get one. I currently have three lenses. One is the kit lens, another is a hand-me-down, and the third is a cheap one that I bought because it can be used with Holga filters (it’s really fun to play with).

I would LOVE this lens since none of my 5, have anti-shake — and, let’s face it, my hands are not as steady as they used to be when I was younger! LOL!
I shoot with a Cannon 20D and 5D, depending on the situation. I LOVE taking pictures, especially on the sidelines of sports and this lens would be wonderful for that!
