Win a 16×20” Stand Out Mount Print from Color Inc.

It is no secret that I LOVE Color Inc Pro Lab’s printing.  I have used them for years, but never really ventured out to products other than e-surface prints until recently. If you are wanting to venture out to, read on for details on how you can enter to win one of 3 Stand Out Mount Prints!

I had some silhouettes I took in Northern Michigan recently (you may remember me asking you to vote on your favorites). And I wanted to get them printed.  I did not want to do gallery wrap canvases.  I wanted something fun and different.

I decided to go with Stand Out Mounted Prints. I tried 3 different surfaces. As shown below.

This 1st one is now hanging on a wall in my house.  The print is on canvas – but instead of a gallery wrap, it has a stand out mount.  The pricing was around $50 for a 16×20, so super reasonable. This style of “canvas” is also great if you cropped in too close and do not have room for the wrap.

Next up, I wanted to try their pearl finish.  LOVED it – it took to the vibrant colors beautifully as you can see.  Excuse the crooked product shot. I will be ordering more prints with this finish in the future.

And lastly, their standard print mounted on the “stand out.” Loved this too. Now what lucky relatives may be getting one of the two I did not hang for a present sometime… Wonder if my parents or in-laws are reading the blog today…

Now for the contest…

The Prize: 3 lucky winners will be picked at random by my twins on Sunday, August 9th. The winners will each get a 16×20 e-surface standard print with Stand Out Mount from Color Inc. Also from now until the winner is announced I have an exclusive 15% off code for Stand Out Mounts just for MCP readers (code is mcp89)

Easy to enter:

- Just reply in the comment section of the blog (FB and Twitter comments will not be entered) – and answer the following question(s): “What makes your photography stand out?” or “What makes you as a photographer stand out?”

- Twitter, Blog, or post to Facebook about this contest. If twittering please mention @mcpactions and @colorinc.

Thanks for participating. And good luck everyone!

I mostly photograph my children, and I think my photos stand out when I am able to find the right angle and capture the right moment.

I think its the angles I use. I try to see things from a different perspective than the norm and capture that.

Tough question! It’s hard to pinpoint in oneself, so I’ll go with what I’ve had clients tell me: that they have a lot of fun shooting with me.

I was just given a great compliment this morning. I was told that my photography really stands out because the people in my portraits look happy. Couples look in love. Parents look like they love the kids. Kids look spunky, crazy, happy, full of personality.

She asked me what the secret is. I told her that I don’t set up a shot and tell people to “look happy”. I put on my shoes and follow the family. We go somewhere they ARE happy and THEN I take the picture.

So I don’t know if this makes me really stand out as a photographer, or my pictures stand out. I see so many talented people online that I don’t think of myself as anything special. But if it’s special to those who matter….that means I’ve done my job and I guess that stands out to them.

I enjoy unique angles. I just got a new wide angle lens and am loving it! It adds a whole new perspective to my photos!!

I think it has to be my eye for natural light…. gotta love what God created for us!

Well, I would have to say that no matter what, I am ME :-) I love bright funky things and what I call emotional black and whites and I think that comes across in my work. I love my job and I don’t spend too much time trying to make my work “unique”. My work is me and I am truly blessed to get to call this my job!

I like to think what stands out about me and the way I approach my business is that I make it about taking the time to capture a memory. For me it is not about how much product they are going to order, but truly taking the time to get to know the family, the child, whoever I am photographing at that moment, and then capturing on film a memory that they can look back at forever and remember that moment in time.

That is a tough question. I don’t know that I stand out. I have always been a bit shy and didn’t want to stand out, so truthfully at this point I try not to think about it. I know why I want my photography to stand out. I want it to capture really people in real moments. It is getting there. I still do plenty of posed shots, families tend to want them, but I try to put them in natural places.

What makes me stand out as a photographer is my love for kids! I LOVE acting as a kid with them. I love to follow them around to get candid shots so I can see the world through their eyes. I come home from going to the same place but everytime I see it differently. I see it how that child saw it. I have 3 children of my own and know that every child sees things differently.

Making people feel comfortable in front of a stranger and in front of a camera. I recently had some seniors tell me how they were nervous before the shoot because they felt it would be awkward since we didn’t know each other, but I made it so fun for them to be comfortable and be themselves.

    1. I think what makes my photography stand out is my ability to capture the wild and natural world around me, and share it with others. Virtually every day finds me afield – from the forest and fields, to the rivers and streams, from the smallest bit of lichen or moss to the largest bull elk.

    2. I think my days afield are big part of what makes me stand out. No studio, no neat and tidy equipment just me in cammo clothes, reeking of bug spray and dragging my cammo skinned equipment around in on ebag and my blinds in another. The other part that makes me stand I think is that technically I am considered disabled. I have Multiple Sclerosis which often affects my ability to walk well and my ability to see, but both my docs and I feel that my time “in the woods” in more therapeutic than any pharmaceutical that has been made! Long live photography as art therapy!

What makes my photographs stand out? Probably the color, contrast and eye-catching effects from the MCP actions I apply…they’re the best!

What makes me standout as a photographer? Well, I’m not a pro photographer; it’s just my hobby. But getting in close and grabbing the face, the look of the eyes, the smile. That seems to be what people like best about my work.

What makes me stand out? Gee I’m really just getting going so that is hard just yet. I guess it would be that my photos are my own unique perspective on the world. No one will ever take a shot just the same way I did!

I work hard to have my photographs be real and non posed. People say that I work hard to get the shots. Thanks for the giveaway!!

I love people! I love to meet people and get to know them and hear their stories. I love to capture their personalities in my photography. And I love to take pictures of people enjoying life and all of the happy times in their lives.

What makes me stand out as a photographer? My big camera bag!!!!!

  19. 219

i think my photography stands out because i bring a fresh perspective…my best work is when i don’t try to set up a shot, but i just happen upon it. i get this feeling when i see something awesome thru my viewfinder and usually i get a gut feeling about how to post-process it too. i think what makes me stand out is that while i may do some things that other photogs do, i am not afraid to try something new or think outside the box.

Honestly. I have never thought about this. What makes me stand out? I’m actually not sure. Maybe I need to evaluate this more!

I guess ideally what I want to known for is the ability to capture people naturally, fresh, bright, muted, vintage… whatever suits the mood of the photo. I want to make moms cry, and the senior feel gorgeous, I guess I just really want to make people happy, and myself happy also.

  21. 221

I think my personality makes me stand out as a photographer, I am always told I am easy to get a long with and people say they feel like they have known me forever when I am leaving a shoot.

I think what makes me stand out is that I try to capture a child’s true personality. I let them be themselves. Sometimes it is not what the parent thinks they want, but so far everyone has been very happy with the outcome.

Thanks for another great contest! Hopefully this comment gets in just under the wire! :)

What makes me stand out? I focus on the details. Though I am a perfectionist to a fault, I am also flexible and great at capturing the unexpected. My work stands out because I take extra steps to achieve flawless images in camera, then add creative touches to make them ever more dreamy in post production.
