My biggest obstacle is ME!!!!! I am it!!!!! I could go into detail and blather on and on, but it still all boils down to me! That’s all.

Definitely having confidence in my abilities. It keeps me from jumping in with both feet because of fear that I’m “not good enough” to do this as a profession. I fear disappointing a client.
I am not sure where to start, or what to do to market.
I am facing two current obstacles. The first is overcoming the stereotyping that comes with having a business based out of your home. Many view this as a hobby not a full fledged business. The second obstacle is nailing down how I want to present myself with my website and who do you intrust your website to be created by.
My biggest struggle in marketing is in getting started too! I haven’t done any and I don’t even know where to start. I’m like some of the other commenters in that I am not comfortable selling myself.
i am not in business yet, but my biggest obstacle right now is finding the time to practice all i read/learn.
I just started and took the BIG LEAP into the world of photography that I love so much, and it’s successful, thus far. BUT…I don’t know what I am doing in terms of how to market my talent, just kinda guessing at it all. So my biggest problem is lack of know-how.

My biggest struggle is figuring out the best use of my resources. One day I’m gung ho for a new lens, the next I want to spend all my money on marketing materials, or mentorship, the next I decide I need to buy (and learn) Photoshop! When I first started out I thought – I already have the camera, this should be a fairly inexpensive career opportunity… Boy was I wrong.
My biggest struggle has been finding qualified clients and selling myself.
All the stuff you have to get done!! That is what is hindering me from starting. I don’t just want to half start. I know there is so much I want to have in place. And all of it makes me nervous.

My biggest obstacle in getting started is most definitely the balance between work & my family!
I am just starting up my business and the biggest obstacles are figuring out design issues like logo and web design. Also how to market myself that I can create a client base.
Not terribly comfortable chit-chatting with new people, and this makes getting someone new comfortable with hiring me a task…

Probably not knowing how to price my work yet… I don’t want to charge too much and lose clients, but want to make sure I’m getting paid for my time…

My area is small…lots of retired folks…but, within an hour in each direction I have three major cities (at least in my area’s standards)…how to market to each, which are very different???
The biggest obstacle in marketing my business is developing a disciplined marketing strategy and staying with it.
My biggest struggle is getting myself to stand out from the crowd when I am not an “out there” type of person. I really need some marketing tips for introverts, LOL! I miss opportunities to hand out my business card or get contact information because it feels too awkward.
Just embarking on this photo biz journey. Though I want to jump in with both feet (and then some…), my fear is taking on too much at once. Not slowly pacing myself for quality and not quantity.
Just the idea of having to “sell yourself” is always difficult.
My biggest struggle in getting started is finding my market/niche. HOw do I narrow it down…and should I narrow down my market? Or go for a more broader subject matter?

my biggest struggle with marketing is learning to decide who my target client is, sticking to it, and reaching them. I tend to try to please everyone and then end up over loadedand working harder to create marketing to target all these subgroups!

Blogging!!!!!! It always seems so witty in my head….. never translates.
My biggest marketing challenge is getting my name out there. My clients always come back, but it’s hard to get new ones coming in.
The biggest obstacle to getting started is confidence in myself along with education and training.
My biggest struggle is deciding who I want my target market to be. On one hand I want to offer high end products, but I also want to be affordable to moms who want great quality photos.
I definitely struggle with the advertisement aspect. I have business cards, but that’s not enough. Having a marketing pack would be AWESOME. I’ve also thought that the posing guide would be great…sometimes I feel like I’m all out of poses.

My biggest struggle with marketing would be probably pricing and putting value to my work, as a fairly new/naive photographer I think I under priced and hope I can recover
My biggest obstacle to getting started is finding a balance between family life and working on my home…. deciding how many clients to shoot in a week etc. to ensure I still enjoy what I do and don’t lose my love for photography in the process.

Biggest struggle marketing is knowing the best way how, all I do now I Facebook
I’m not in business yet … and my biggest obstacle why I’m not is because the idea of writing a business plan torments me. I don’t believe I should make the leap until I have my plan, and I’m frozen when it comes to writing it. I think I’m ready, once I overcome that paralysis.
I just started my business and the biggest hurdle so far has been getting those first clients and really getting my name out there.
I don’t know where to begin — I feel overwhelmed in developing a marketing plan.
I think my biggest prob in marketing…is I’m just unsure how to really go about it. I think if I could figure that out…then I’d be doing better…I’m also a MCP FB fan, RSS subscriber and MCP Twitter Follower!
My biggest stuggle is a marketing plan – I don’t know where to begin!
My biggest obstacle is getting new clients.
My biggest struggle is knowing who to market to and getting people to follow up when they say they want to book a session.
I need to learn to how to market myself better. Need to get more customers! Many say they want to schedule appt, but don’t follow through. How to not be pushy but get the appt?
Time is my biggest obstacle! I have two small children and my business took off a lot sooner then I expected it too and I find that when I come into the quieter months that I just want to do nothing because I am worn out from the busier months!
hmmmm where to start …no really where to start with marketing
staying on top of my marketing, getting it out early enough to market it properly. Being in my first year, I also have trouble getting sets/scenes together for my limited edition specialty sets to market them in advance.
My biggest struggle is discovering who i am…Branding myself! I knew who i was before kids but now i feel like a mom, trying to get back to who she was… how do i want to present myself in the business world.

My biggest obstacle in getting started is time and family (4 kids). I want to be there for my kids. Its hard having time to learn all that I need to and put it into practice all the while meeting their needs.
My biggest obstacles are lack of money and lack of ideas.
My biggest struggle is charging my full prices and coming up with prices and packages.
