How to Use Cards & Templates: The Online Photoshop Training Class
It’s that time of year again. Whether you are a professional photographer offering holiday cards to your customers or a hobbyist wanting to make collages, cards, and gifts for your friends and family, you will want to know how work with cards in Photoshop: add your images, change colors and alter text as desired. This MCP Online Group Workshop makes using cards and templates easy and fun.
Not only will you learn how to add pictures to your templates, you will know how to use clipping masks, adjust colors (where applicable), change text, and more. And thanks to some amazing partnerships and collaborations with MCP Actions, this class will include dozens of cards and templates for photographers from leading designers. New this year, class also comes with 23 beautiful digital papers.
Once you sign up for this workshop, you will get the following:
- Hundreds of dollars worth of cards, templates, digital papers: dozens of designs (one sided and double sided cards, calender templates, senior templates, wedding set, and more) by leading graphic designers for photographers.
- A 1 1/2 hour live workshop teaching you how to use the cards and templates: you will learn clipping masks, layer order, changing colors when applicable, adding or changing text, and more! See the bottom of this post for times and dates available.
Since this class is seasonal, dates, prices and purchase info is at the bottom of this post.

oh my gosh. i was just thinking yesterday “where in the world can I learn to do templates, etc”. This is coming at a perfect time =)
Jenna – I will be teaching all about using them. I will not be teaching how to make them from scratch. Just in case you are wanting that too. Hope that helps – maybe I will “see” you there.
How “advanced” would a person’s photoshop skills have to be to get through this workshop successfully? I’m very interested but I am a little worried that I’ll end up feeling lost.
Very basic Aidan – just an understanding of what the move tool is, general understanding of layers, etc. I do have a beginner’s bootcamp photoshop class if you are brand new to Photoshop. That might help you too – but if you have used Photoshop for even a few months, you probably will be fine.
Would the cards come with a commercial or personal use license?
Hi, Will you also teach us about what to do with them once they are done? Where to send them or printers, papers, supplies, we would need to get them done?Very interested!
what about those who are in financial struggles…?
Perfect timing! Just the type of class I’ve been looking for!! Will we be able to ask questions once the class is over if we need help? Thanks!
Good post ! I like here !
thank you !
Ditto Nicole, what about those of us in financial struggle ? proof in learning credit ???
Jodi.Greetings. I too wondered if you will be suggesting vendors for print. Also are the images are available with an unlimited use license. The way I read it is the latter question is “yes” and I wanted to double check. Cheers!
I can suggest who I use, but I can only speak from my experience. You are welcome to pose this question on my facebook page as well. You can use the cards for your clients as flattened files, but not as PSD files for resale in any way. You cannot use parts of them in design work you will see for a card/template business – just for flattened cards for your photography customers.
Will you offer any Saturday or after work hour slots? Thank you!
Jen, I am not sure at this point about weekend classes. The latest I train at night is the 8:30 pm eastern slot. I do not want to yawn during training 🙂
This is GREAT!!!! Any chance you are able to do a 830pm class any sooner – other times are during the night for us aussies interested in doing the class. or if not any chance we can get the templates a little earlier to play around with?
This is the only 8:30 class I will be holding for the card workshop. As far as the other question – email me direct with it 🙂 [email protected].
What do I need to have for computer equipment in order to attend the class?
Hi Jodi! If any other classes come available, or if anybody can’t attend, please let me know I wanted to do this class but life got in my way. Thanks,Brenda Gembarski
Will you be offering another card and template class in the next coming weeks? They are all sold out. 🙁
I have no plans to offer another class until next year. If I did it would be day time. The problem is that even though a number of people still want one more date, the chances of one date and time working for all would be slim.
