Every Fall one of our favorite things to do as a family is go to the apple orchard. If you live in a cooler climate, you most likely know what I mean… I love the smells of fresh cider, hot cinnamon donuts, and pumpkins. The colors are so rich and vibrant. The apples so crisp. Everything about Fall, from Halloween, to my birthday the day before, is just great. I’d love to see what you love most about Fall too. Photography? The colors? The smells? What do you love about it? Just upload your Fall photos to my Facebook Wall or to the comment section here to share. If you used any MCP Photoshop actions, please share which you used.
Here are a few snapshots I took quickly of Ellie and Jenna. I am sure I will be taking more soon. Note Jenna with the tie… It brings back memories of when I was in 7th grade and wore a tie for my class pictures. I guess girls wear ties is back in style only this time paired with Madonna-esque 80s style leggings … And Ellie… She just looks so grown up to me in these shots. Remember to take pictures of your kids. Don’t be “that photographer” that just takes pictures of everyone else… Back to the photography side of things. These images were shot with my Canon 5D MKII with the 24-105L. I chose this lens because I did not want to carry a camera bag, and did not know what I’d want to shoot there – I just wanted versatility. I shot at 4.0, which is the widest this lens goes. The photos were all natural light, most at ISO 400 and 1/250, as it was actually bright yet cloudy. As for actions, I just used my Big Batch Action in Autoloader (mainly made of Color Burst from the Complete Workflow and a few things from the Bag of Tricks. Hope that info helps.
Oh and just searched my blog and found these pictures from 2 years ago in the fall. Yep, they are growing up.

The light in New Mexico is gorgeous year round, but particularly so in the fall. I used your high definition sharpening action on the sky and the burro in this shot.
LOVE the black and white photo so much! We’re thinking about going to the Apple Orchard for the first time ever this fall. Usually our fall consists of lots and lots of football. But I especially like the cooler-than-summer, but not-as-cold-as-winter weather, the colors, and the approaching holiday season!
Good lord…I wore that same style back in junior high too!! I love how styles…even bad ones…come right back around! At least Jenna makes it look adorable!
F A L L is my most favorite season! I have a lengthy list of things that I like to do, and going to an apple orchard is one of them! I’m currently running a series on my blog of “Fun Things to do in Fall”, so far, I have Part 1 and 2 up with more to come. Thanks for sharing your fall favorites, here are links to mine:{Part 2} http://www.wayfaringwanderer.com/2010/10/fun-things-to-do-in-fall-boone-nc.html{Part 1} http://www.wayfaringwanderer.com/2010/10/fun-things-to-do-in-fall-north-carolina.html
Your girls are growing up so much. They are beautiful. I love everthinh about fall. Going to Put-In Bay this weekend and hope to snap some wonderful memories.
Love the shot of the girls in that HUGE chair! 🙂 I have to say that is the one thing I do miss about MI..fall and the apple orchards! We used to go to one in Romeo (or it is over that way….) always had a great time!
I love the photo with the burro! Beautiful :-)The colors are what I find to be the most amazing thing about fall … too bad they doesn’t last very long though! I used your touch of light on this photo for their eyes.
Thank you for the info on what you were shooting with….so you like the 24-105? I was thinking of selling mine because the aperture doesn’t open as wide as I would like, and on the zoom end, it just falls short to be a carry around (whatever they call it) lens for me……I’m loving my new 50mm 1.4, though I’m getting a lot blurry stuff….I know depth of field. I’d be interested to know what you find the 24-105 particularly useful for?Just bought the Quickie Collection yesterday! I’m going nuts with it and have so much to learn about just basic photoshop. I’m ready for more actions already! My favorite pic is below:
