I would love to give some confidence back to some of my mom clients that have little ones to take care of. I would love to see more of them in the photos with their kids and even on their own embracing their beauty.

Oh WOW~! I just checked out the campaign and it TRULY touched my heart and got me crying…. I’s sooooo easy for me to see the beauty in others. but I have an extreamly difficult time seeing it in myself so this hit quite close to home for me. The most beautiful people I know have the same issues and I would LOVE to be able to find a way to show them how the world sees them, how I see them… and maybe I can lean to do the same for myself in the process… thank you for the inspiration!

I would love to be a part of this campaign! I think every women should have beautiful photographs taken of her regardless of size or shape and I would love to be a part of that in someone’s life. Women tend to not take care of themselves and put their families first, so that is what inspires me about this campaign and that every women is beautiful in her own way.

My absolute favorite thing about photography is when I can take a girls pictures, and when she see’s them, the first thing out of her mouth is ‘wow, I didn’t know I could look like that.’ I think that every woman is beautiful, and we all deserve to have the confidence in ourselves to KNOW “I am beautiful.” If I can give a girl pictures to prove it, that makes me so happy! If I could incorporate this into my business, I know I would have the tools to make a thriving business that caters to the needs of women. I love this campaign & would love the be a part of it <3

As I venture into the world of business-ownership I have realized how much I love high school senior photoshoots and I really strive to make the experience as positive as possible. So many high school girls have horrible body images and they have a rough time with the idea of going off to college where they don’t know anyone. I want to show how beautiful they really are and give them a positive experience. The My Beauty Campaign seems like it would be the perfect additino to my business.

Wow what an awesome awesome campaign – love the mission. Mandy I love your story and can truly say that I know many women who can relate – including myself. As women we tend to be the one’s behind the camera photographing the journey of our family, always putting their needs first in just about everything. The beauty campaign is truly an insipiration and I can see that this type of photo journey would be an amazing experience for all women, as we are all beautiful and it is time to let it shine laides. I could truly see how this program would be a great beneift and addition to my studio and our community and I hope to kick start the mission in my area soon.

This campaign is heartwarming to see. I’ve been looking for something like this to reach out to women in my area. Thanks for the inspiration! Being able to inspire them and truly change lives would be wonderful. Thanks very much for the opportunity!

When I first heard about The Beauty Campaign I was immediately in love with the idea! One of the main reasons I love photography is being about to show people how beautiful God created them!

  24. 124

I LOVE this campaign and the purpose behind it. I know I have personally gone through stages in my life when I didn’t like how I looked, felt like I looked fat or ugly, felt insecure, and DIDN’T feel like having my picture taken, much less want to actually SEE myself in any photos. I’m much more comfortable in front of the camera now, but still have my moments that I’m so glad to be behind the camera instead! I can honestly say I’m a BIG fan of Photoshopping, “airbrushing”, and all the fabulous new ways to play with photos to bring out the best in what or whoever the subject may be. I have a dear friend who is beautiful, inside and out, but doesn’t see herself that way right now. We went on a trip together with our husbands and at dinner asked the waitress to take our picture. The next thing I know my friend is crying and I have no idea why! When I ask she says she’s fine but all through dinner I can’t stop thinking if I said something that upset her or did something to hurt her feelings…I felt awful! After dinner I got a chance to pull her aside to beg her to tell me what I’d done to upset her and to please forgive me! With tears in her eyes, she simply said “I don’t like to look at myself in pictures”. She still hates being in pictures and wouldn’t even let me post pics I took at her daughter’s birthday if she was in them. It broke my heart that the idea of herself being seen in a picture was so awful to her that it became more important than celebrating the birth of her own child. I would absolutely LOVE to change that fir her and any other woman, at any age, and show just how beautiful we ALL are…just because we are.

  25. 125

I think this campaign is a great idea for women to respect and appreciate themselves. The more we can support and celebrate all of the various forms of beauty the better.

  26. 126
    stacy cavanaugh says:

I liked the Beauty Campaign on Facebook.

  27. 127

I LOVE the Beauty Campaign because I feel like every woman needs to feel good about herself ALL the time. I can remember for a while after having my son, I was so discouraged about how my body changed and never “had time” for myself. Every woman should know that they need to do something for themselves and it can do wonerful things for the relationships all around her. This would help my business A LOT because I’m just starting out and this is EXACTLY the area I want to go into.

  28. 128
    Chelsea says:

I have always been that friend, the one who pushes all of her insecure friends to find the beauty in themselves. Every woman needs to have confidence and be comfortable in her own skin. You don’t need to look a certain way to have friends or find a man, you just need to be confident in yourself. Confidence draws people towards you, it makes people want to be your friend and most of all it will make you feel better about yourself! I have come into contact with so many women in my life that need something like the My Beauty Campaign! I think that having them take some time out of their lives and think about all the things that make them beautiful might be able to help them turn their life or at least their personality around. A day of pampering and beautiful photography may help some ladies more than we will ever know.

What I love about the beauty campaign is that it puts the focus back on women. So many women, especially mothers, spend their whole day focused on everyone around them. I love the shift of attention to the caregivers of the world. I have only been in business a little more than one year, and the beauty campaign would help make me memorable and stand out from the other photographers in my area.

I live in a small country town where most women have quite unglamorous lives, living on farms or just generally having to perform tasks normally expected of men. My Beauty Campaign would help women in my community rediscover their beauty and offer me the opportunity to help change their lives.

  52. 152

As someone who has struggled with self image my entire life, I think this campaign will not only help bring the beauty out in the women I photograph but also make me realize the beauty in me. As women, we face so many pressures to be perfect and to conform to unrealistic standards of beauty. The biggest gift that photography has given me is the opportunity to make others realize just how amazing they both inside and out. I want to give the gift of self-confidence and strength to women, but I also want to discover those same qualities in me.

  53. 153

I love the campaign! As a plus sized girl I’ve been pushing that it’s not the size it’s what’s inside that shines through! I love it when my clients see themselves as beautiful through the images we create.

    Noel small says:

I would LOVE to this contest, I think it would be so nice to help women build their self esteem, and help them feel beautiful. I believe it would benefit my business just from the good karma it would bring, and also because clients who leave their session feeling good, and then who are happy seeing their pictures, and ‘think wow, I AM beautiful
‘ are wonderful. Helping speed the word about your business, and are likely to be repeat customers!

  55. 155
    Lizzy Yates says:

As a woman I can relate to sometimes feeling uncomfortable in your own skin. As a photographer I want to be able to strip away this concern for my clients.

    Lizzy Yates says:

  57. 157

I think this is wonderful! I’m not sure I’m the right photographer for this sort of campaign, but I can tell you this campaign of yours reminded me that it’s what’s behind the lens that counts as well. Recently I had an all time low when I actually went to a paid shoot wearing an old pair of jeans, a hand me down shirt from my mother (I’m 30 by the way) and as usual a frumpy looking hat because I just don’t know what to do with my hair. I was not wearing makeup either which is quite normal for me. Put all of this together then take a look at when I got home and realized that my zipper had worked it’s way down during the shoot and was open the whole time! This was the last shoot I had scheduled so I have not worked with anyone since then. From now on though I am going to love me as much as I love photography…..and that’s ALOT! I hope that people will view me as being just as beautiful as the work I produce! My new moto “Let me inspire me”! Then I can go make someone else feel beautiful!

  58. 158
    Jennifer Dale says:

I love the idea of this campaign! Like many others have said, I am in my late 30s and not confident like I used to be. I know I would love to have a beautiful photo taken of me to inspire me and give me a boost :) I’d love to be part of this campaign!

  59. 159
    Jeri says:

This is such a fabulous concept. I am amazed at how quickly women can break themselves apart and focus on only the flaws (self included). This campaign can help us all to lift each other up and open our eyes to see the beauty in everyone!

  60. 160
    Christina says:

So many women have a negative view of themselves, this campaign is very inspiring and every woman deserves to be a part of it!

  61. 161

I think the My Beauty Campaign can and will be an awesome tool to inspire everyday women to feel better about themselves…my own self included! Truly a ‘ground-breaking’ idea in the photography business that is too well know for trying to create “perfect” photos from not-so-perfect people. I’m not quite sure where the right place to …enter the contest is, but it’s a wonderful idea :)

  64. 164

This is such a fantastic idea. I know many women who, after a certain age, just do not feel beautiful anymore. They don’t have the courage to do a boudoir session, and this would be just the thing to reach out in a non-threatening way. I am excited about this.

    Dana says:

This is so uplifting! What a great idea! (I know that sometimes I feel like I need a little of this advice too!) Thanks!

  70. 170

This is just the kind of campaign that I can really believe in as I was bullied when I was younger. I was called names that made me very self concious. I eventually grew to understand that every woman is beautiful. I would love to add this campaign to my growing photography business.

  71. 171

Of Course! What a simple idea. Photographers do have the power to improve a person’s self esteem. I just need to know how to convince a woman with low self-esteem to let me photograph her…
I always think that “you are never more beautiful than you are today” and it is frustrating when people put off their photography shoot hoping that they will look better at some time in the future.

  72. 172

Nine months ago, a fitness instructor at a local studio approached me about doing a artistic nude photo shoot of her. Thinking it was a boudoir shoot to create something for her husband, at our initial client meeting, I showed up with assorted samples and my boudoir portfolio, only to find she had images of Crystal Renn and other plus-size models smiling and revealing fat rolls cut out to show me what she was looking for.

She was getting ready to go to her 30th high school reunion, and she told me that made her look at herself and realize that she’d spent the last 30 years hating her body, picking at the imperfections, binging and purging in order to fit the ideal of a high school student, a college student, and then a fitness instructor. She was completely uncomfortable in her own skin, so she wanted a photo that showed her, wrinkles and fat rolls (which she does NOT have) included.

That shoot was incredibly fun as we posed and played around with lighting her in a way that was flattering but didn’t look airbrushed. She wanted realism and art.

She ended up purchasing an enlargement and two 5x7s–one for herself and one for her husband–from the shoot. She keeps the enlargement in her bedroom so that she can see herself every morning and tell herself “You are beautiful. You are art–without airbrushing or dieting.”

Whenever she feels the need to binge or purge, whenever she feels depressed about her appearance, she takes the 5×7 out of her wallet and tells herself “I love myself. I love my curves. I am beautiful.”

I think that shoot embodied EVERYTHING that the My Beauty Campaign is about: loving yourself, getting portraits for yourself and no one else, and seeing yourself as beautiful. It’s why I love and support the My Beauty Campaign.

(I’ve attached an outtake from the photo shoot.)

  73. 173

What a wonderful campaign! I’ve seen so many (and at times still am myself) women who are painfully shy and lack confidence at the beginning of their photography session with me. By the time we are have completed, I know I have done my job well if they are smiling, confident and feeling sexy. Many women don’t want to be in front of a camera. However, once you are, it’s very empowering. What a wonderful thing to see someone’s self-confidence grow before your very eyes. I know their photographs will be fantastic becuase I’ve watched these women transform in front of my eyes. This kit will help me reach out to more women and encourage them and to help make them feel as beautiful as they are (as well as myself too!)I’d love the opportnity to be able to share this!

    Larissa Holt says:

This sounds like something I could use personally! The My Beauty Campaign would help my business because I would like to take my work towards photographing many more moms with their new babies. New moms typically don’t feel at their best physically after they’ve just delivered, and this campaign could help me change that perception.

  77. 177
    Tia Thomas says:

I LOVE the idea of this. As a photographer, its easy to show the beauty in a very photogenic person, but it can be more challenging to show in a photograph the beauty that you see in someone who is not as photogenic. I personally am like that – I have VERY few photos of myself because I am just not photogenic and I when I see a picture of myself I think “Wow, am I that bad?!” I want to be able to bring that inner beauty to the surface for other women so they look at their photos and say “Wow, I look that good?!?!” I think this would benefit my business because as I want to be able to give that self-confindence to other women and I feel like that will translate into a healthier, happier business situation for me!

  78. 178
    ali says:

I am so touched by the testimonies of the photographers and the women who shared on the website. This is the reason WHY I got into photography. People have value, and for a woman to believe that she isn’t beautiful enough to be photographed, cherished, and saved is heartbreaking. This is the first I’ve heard of this Campaign, but I hope to be a strong part of it!

  82. 182

and I shared and “liked” on both my FB pages!

  83. 183

I believe every woman has beauty. That is what I love about this campaign. The worlds standards don’t matter. I think this is a great campaign and I am going to incorporate this into my business maybe as some sort of mothers day special.

  84. 184
    Valentina G says:

We live in a society that expects women to look perfect. I think this is a great campaign to remind women that we are beautiful just the way we are. I took some pictures of a friend of mine not long ago. When she saw the pictures she told me I made her look beautiful. But that was not true; I simply captured her beauty. I did not make her look beautiful, she already is. It would enhance my business by reaching out to more women.

  85. 185

I LOVE this idea! It is so funny how as we get older, we no longer think we should be photographed unless in a group. I cannot tell you how long it has been since I have had a portrait done….and I’m a photographer!!!!
But it is wonderful to help women have confidence in who they are like you said “right now”. Many women have trouble with this concept. I would love to help women see themselves as God’s beautiful creations, just as He does and as others do. What a blessing that would be!

  86. 186

I’ve had my eye on this for a little while now, and I love the concept! Every woman is beautiful, even if – especially if – they don’t know it. I’d love the opportunity to help spread that confidence and empowerment.

  87. 187

This is already something that I decided to make my photography business about, so I’m thrilled to see that other women photographers have this passion as well!

It’s my birthday this weekend so I’m in reflection mode!

When I was too young to understand, I never thought about womanly beauty
When I was at the age where womanly beauty begins, it’s all I ever wanted
When my womanly beauty blossomed, it was never enough
When my I was finally a woman, I worked hard to maintain my womanly beauty
Then I had a daughter…Now all I’ll ever see until my dying day is…WOMANLY BEAUTY.

I love being a photographer because we have the power in our lens to make ordinary things EXTRAORDINARY. We help people feel differently about the world and themselves. That’s why I’m in this business, and anything I can do to further that cause is incredibly important to me! This is a GREAT idea and I’d love to win this. I want to create a portrait and boudoir part of my business, marketed to “real women”. I want to show that beauty is not “prescribed” by makeup, lighting or fashion…NO! BEAUTY IS JUST LIGHT RADIATING FROM THE SOUL.

I have tweeted this amazing giveaway and LIKE you on Facebook!
