Thanks for sharing! This is very helpful.
Great, great article, Sarah! Thank you!
Thank you so much for this post. I am in the stages of going from shooting just “friends” to more strangers through word of mouth. I am taking this to a new level and I am so grateful for you to share your process! Thank you!!
Thank you for this. Excellent article. I am PBing and have shoots lined up from a recent casting call. The information provided herein is definitely going to help me with my workflow, which, right now, is slow going..
Great share, thank you!!!!!
Excellent Article!! Now you’ve got me thinking. I’d like to share a keyboard shortcut with you in LR. Instead of right clicking and choosing “Edit In…” you can hit Command + E (Ctrl + E on the PC) to open an image in Photoshop. Save yourself a mouse click. I even open multiple images in PS using this method.
Sarah, at the “in person ordering session”, do you bring your laptop, or do you print out proofs or have a proof sheet? It sounds like you just bring along your laptop if you were meeting somewhere like a cafe. Thanks!
What software do you use to do your in-person ordering?Thank you for this! It was very helpful!
Brian, thanks for the tip! Like I said, I didn’t know about that little feature until recently and was exporting everything and THEN opening in CS5 previously!Karen, I do bring my laptop and use Lightroom’s slideshow module to present the photos to my clients. I have them flag their favorites as they watch the slideshow so we can go back to them when it is over. I think it is easier this way, but honestly, I am all about minimizing costs and maximizing profits and I think not printing out the proofs aids in that.
Really great portraits. Love the processing. I wish I could get my shots looking this good.
I use Lightroom 3 for in person ordering. The vast majority of my editing is done using my actions.
I love the glow look! these actions are great for doing this, it also helps to overexpose the photos a bit it seems, then use the actions to enhance the effect.
