One powerful feature of recent versions of Lightroom 3 and Lightroom 4 is Lens Correction. Adobe engineers are geniuses. With every upgrade and version, the software gets more intelligent.
When you use Lens Correction on your RAW files in Lightroom, you may notice they “jump.” You will also notice this change when you use our color or black and white presets from the Quick Clicks Collection and the free Lightroom Presets, Mini Quick Clicks. Why? We have applied this as one of the programmed settings inside the presets.
We feel that if you have one of the more recent versions of the software, you should take full advantage. Lens correction is smart! As long as you update your software when prompted, Lightroom auto detects the lens you used. Most lenses provide some level or distortion, especially around the edges. This feature takes your lens and applies a correction to it. WOW! I love this feature.
If you are not a fan, and prefer your photos not have this extra goodie applied when using our photos, this Lightroom Video Tutorial, shows you how to alleviate this automatic fix. Learn more about Lens Correction by watching the Lightroom video tutorial below:
If you do not have a recent version of Lightroom, consider upgrading so you will get this amazing technology while using MCP’s presets.

Very neat and informative! I’ve always been very timid to try silhouettes, but may give it a go now, thanks.
Wow Jodi, these tips are pretty comprehensive! I’ve always had problems getting the right amount of light when shooting sunset scenes and silhouettes. Now I totally get it! Thanks!
Gorgeous pics!
