So many of you loved our step-by-step tutorial using all four seasons last week, that we decided to spend time creating another one.  Thank you to Angie Monson of Simplicity Photography for the use of her beautiful image.

Since we decided to sell each season separately as well as at a cost-savings for buying the full set, all examples shown on the product page use specific seasons and the season extras. We did not mix seasons. But, if you buy them all, there are no limits to what you can combine.

Each of the 4 sets has 20+ unique seasonal actions and includes the bonus set of 25 extra fine-tuning actions. To learn more about the Four Seasons action set or to purchase, click here. Thank you!

The Before Image:

This is a great base image to start with.  In all our edits we wanted to pull out detail in his eyes, as they lacked some light.  And we wanted to boy to become the focus, so he did not compete with the background.

Spring Splendor Edit:

For a lighter, clean edit we used:

  1. Spring Synthesis Standard Mix and Match: Spring Splendor Base at the default opacity. Then turned on Peachtree at 62% and Fruit Salad at 46%.
  2. Clarif-Eye painted on his eyes and lips to sharpen and help them stand out – used a 100% opacity brush. Layer opacity set to 100% too.
  3. Illuminate painted on his eyes at 100%, layer opacity at 66%.

Summer Solstice Edit:

For a color popped, vibrant clean edit, we used:

  1. Summer Blend Standard Mix and Match: Summer Solstice Base at the default opacity. Then turned on Sol at 28% and Beach Bash at 43% opacity.
  2. Hemisphere at 19% to add contrast.
  3. Color Carnival: painted on at 100% opacity on the background and at 20% opacity on his shirt and eyes. Layer opacity lowered to 36% so the look was not over-the-top.
  4. Clarif-Eye painted on his eyes and lips to sharpen and help them stand out – used a 100% opacity brush. Layer opacity set to 100% too.
  5. Illuminate painted on his eyes at 100%, layer opacity at 66%

  2. Fall Foliage: painted on with a brush at 100% opacity on the background to completely change the hues of the leaves and greenery to take on a fall feel.
  3. Clarif-Eye painted on his eyes and lips to sharpen and help them stand out – used a 100% opacity brush. Layer opacity set to 100% too.

Wow, hard decision!! Love the color tones of autumn equinox, especially this time of year, but naturally drawn to cooler colors so I had to go with Summer Solstice! Both, and the bnw, are beautiful 🙂
