This week we introduced a new photo challenge, and what a challenge it is!

As photographers, it is easy to get stuck behind the camera. It is also very easy to make excuses for not being the subject of your shots. This week there is no excuse because this week we challenged you to get in front of the camera and take a self-portrait. Here are a few beautiful, candid shots that caught our eye:

We are thankful for everyone’s bravery and confidence in sharing their self-portraits, we enjoyed seeing so many of you on the opposite side of the lens.

The photography challenges are a good way to grow as a photographer.  Be creative, try new things and shoot these images for yourself.   You have the support of a large group of photographers who can assist you and give you feedback as you work on specific themes and skills.

We loved seeing your take on this theme, if you want to see more, check out the album on the group page.

Are you inspired to be on the other side of the camera? Turn that camera around and shoot;  you have one more week to capture your shot.  Come join our Facebook Group and participate today.

The photo edit challenge continued this week, giving you a chance to edit other photographer’s images, share them for critique, and see how others edited the same photographs.  Participating allows you to practice editing, learn how to give constructive criticism, and watch what steps or Photoshop actions and Lightroom presets are used in various edits.  Join us to edit the bi-weekly photos.

If you have an idea on how you’d edit the image below, or want to see and learn what others did, JOIN US HERE.

Several more edits were shared this week by members of the group. Here are a few of the many favorites:

I love to make subtle changes with overlays and actions that make people say, ahhhh, wow, ohhh. I use them to enhance but not to a noticable degree!

I’ve read some article says that there are a number of picture styles which can be used when shooting in modes such as manual, aperture and shutter priority. The creative control modes can only be used as their own independent modes, but you can increase or decrease the level of their affect.
