How to Post Images

For MCP Project 12, we will be using Linky Tools rather than the Flickr Group.  You will host the photo at the location of your choice, for example, on your Blog, Flickr or a photo hosting site.  You can host it anywhere as long as the photo is “public.” We recommend creating a blog post with your submission, but photo hosting sites may be used, such as Flickr, Smugmug, Photobucket, etc.  We do not recommend using Facebook as it will not allow you to add your thumbnail.

You can follow these simple instructions on adding your link:

Each month, you will upload your photo(s) to a hosting site or create a blog post with your photo(s) and a MCP Project 12 banner or link to the MCP P12 Home Page: http://www.mcpactions.com/blog/2012/01/01/mcp-project-12.

At the bottom of each month’s introduction, there will be a linky tool for you to add your submission(s). It will say “click here to enter” and indicate the submission deadline.  The moderators will pick features for an end of month post a few days prior, but you can continue adding for the monthly theme until the link tool closes.

After selecting “click here to enter,” you will see the following dialog box.

  1. Copy and paste the direct URL of your picture or blog post. Make sure you are not linking to the main page of your blog. This is very important – if you link to a private page or just a main blog page, other photographers and the MCP Team Leaders will not be able to locate your submission.  Links that are submitted incorrectly or do not meet our guidelines shown here may be deleted. You are welcome to resubmit.
  2. Enter your caption.  This can be a title of your choosing or the theme title but it is limited to 15 characters.
  3. Enter your email and name.  Please list your actual name. Your email is never shared beyond MCP Actions.  It is kept private and will not be displayed with your photo.
  4. The last step shows creates a thumbnail image. You can click the ‘From Web’ and it will prompt you through cropping the thumbnail for your photo. Alternatively, you can upload a small file from your computer as the thumb.  Make sure it matches your photo submission. Once you are done with cropping, it will redirect you back to the original monthly blog post and you should see your thumbnail/link as the last one entered. Email us at mcpproject12@gmail.com if you are having trouble adding your link.
