What is the best way to get answers to my photography and Photoshop questions?

While I would love to answer every email I get personally, I don't feel I can give a good answer to each person personally due to the volume. You may want to visit the various FAQ sections on my website. I also will do FAQ posts on the MCP Blog. I will try to answer as many questions as I can in these upcoming FAQ posts.

What are other ways to get answers to immediate questions?

- The "MCP Fan Page" on Facebook. You may post in the "discussion area" tab and/or on the "wall." My hope is that photographers can help each other here, and I'll also post some answers as time permits.

- Join a photography forum as they are often filled with many people eager and willing to help. This type of resource can be so valuable as you will have many photographers, not just me, willing to help.

If you are trying to learn Photoshop there are thousands of amazing resources to consider. Start at my blog - you can watch video tutorials and read Photoshop tips/tutorials and before and after images with step-by-step blueprints. As you may know, I teach online group workshops and one-on-one private Photoshop workshops. NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) is a valuable resource for learning Photoshop, as they have thousands of videos, a help desk and great information.

How can I get critique on this image I edited? Can you edit this photo for me so I can see how you would do it?

I love seeing before and after shots. Unfortunately do to the volume; I cannot personally give detailed critique on each one. Please continue to share with me and post them to the MCP Flickr group. I approve these submissions weekly and if you include permission for me to use them, along with step-by-step instructions, you may just see them in a future Blueprint on my blog.

I also edit straight out of camera shots for my before and after Friday Blueprints. If you are interested in submitting one, email me the high res image with a note of permission, and your website address for proper credit. I will hand select images for Blueprints based on what actions and types of editing I want to demonstrate. I will not be able to post every before and after to my site.

When I log on to my newly created account, I do not see all actions that I have purchased. How can I view those?

Any actions purchased from my old website (prior to December 17th, 2009) will not be available for re-download on this site. Those actions and workshops will not be reflected in your downloads, invoices or history. All orders from this point on are viewable as long as you log on to your account.

When will I get a confirmation on the workshop?

For group workshops you will get an confirmation email upon purchase. I will send a second confirmation with details via email 2 days prior to the workshop. If you do not receive instructions, please contact me.

What is your actions replacement policy if my hard drive should crash and I lose my actions?

MCP's action replacement policy: Please back up your actions. If you fail to do so, here is my policy.

  • For actions purchased on this website which launched December 17th, 2009, you may download products up to 5 times for your own use (see licensing under Terms at the bottom of my site). You will need to remember your log on information to access these. If you need to download additional times, you will need to follow the same information below and I can email you the actions. For lost free actions, you can just re-order.

  • For actions purchased from my past website, I will resend actions for free only if you can provide me your receipt via email - either your paypal receipt, credit card receipt, etc.

  • It is time consuming for me to look through thousands of transactions to locate your purchases. If you cannot provide a receipt, I will discount previously purchased actions at 50% off current website prices. I will need to be able to verify your past purchase. You will need to provide me the following: month/year each set was purchased and email address used for payment.

    • When will I get my actions?

    Actions are now available for instant download. Log into the MCP Actions website and your purchases are available for download.

    Do you offer any photo editing or retouching services?

    Years ago photo editing was one of my services. Due to my current business focus, I no longer offer photo retouching, editing or restoration.
